Where It All Began......

Shang was born in Washington DC and raised in the Maryland suburbs as a young child by her parents Hosea & Lillie Green along with 4 other siblings. There is where she was introduced to singing and using her talent. She was groomed by her mother and her older siblings on how to and what not to. At the age of 4, Shang was introduced to her first audience of at least 150 people at New Macedonia Church in Fairmont Height Maryland where she froze at the site of all the people and never sang a note that day. Nevertheless, momma Kathy didn't stop pushing her in front of audiences all over the east coast spreading the Gospel with her other siblings as "The Greenette Gospel Singers".
It all started back in the 40's and 50's with her grandmother Louvenia Carroll who sang along side of the powerful Pastor Shirley Ceaser for a few years until she branched off and paired up with the Stars of Faith. They traveled all over the world spreading God's word and bringing happiness to hearts of many until the passing of her grandmother in the summer of 2001. Her gestures and some of her movements are just like her grandmothers. She will live in the message and the music of her granddaughter forever!!
Shang's father is also a known singer in the metropolitan area who has been singing for the Spiritual Volunteers for over 50 years. They are born out of Springfield Baptist Church where the Late Pastor L.B.Jones was residing. Momma Lillie is still singing and spreading the gospel all around the metropolitan area as well. In her early twenties, Shang decided to branch out in where she met the incredible Nathan Heathman. After one note, Nathan took her under his wing where she started touring and getting called to be a back up singer for such artists as Patrice Rushen, Phil Perry, Gary Taylor, Jean Carne, Freddie Jackson and many many others.
This is where she created a name for herself being one of the best background vocalist who was always ready and wiling to put in the time and the patience to become what she is today!! Nathan was a very important piece to this puzzle for Shang. Nathan passed away October 2004 but he will forever live on in the message and the music that Shang creates. Today you can see this phenomenal vocalist performing everywhere with the help of Brencore Entertainment, Charm City Jazz , Al Johnson & The "A' Team , local and private events as well. This is Shang's story..... and this is where it all began..........
